Placement process
Step 1: Complete the Application
Complete the online application form which will be sent to your prospective au pairs. In your letter remember to include fun family details such as any hobbies, your location and why you love living there, is it close to public transport/beach etc? If you have ever hosted an au pair before, why you are wanting to host a big brother or sister from overseas, and preferred placement dates.
Remember to attach a recent family photo to help make your family stand out.
Step 2: Let’s Get Started
Once we receive your application, we’ll schedule a Host Family interview and request a non-refundable registration fee of $150 and during the interview we will request contact details of referees for your family and current police certificates for every adult living in your family home.
Step 3: Finding Your Perfect Match
After the interview, we’ll match suitable profiles from our database to your family requirements. You can interview one or two candidates and select the best fit. Please note, candidate availability may vary due to the competitive market, especially post-Covid-19 and they do place quickly.
Step 4: Finalising Your Placement
Upon selecting an Au Pair/Demi Pair, we’ll prepare a placement confirmation detailing start dates, pocket money, and expected hours. Both parties sign the agreement. Payment to Au Pair & Nanny Network Australia is required before confirming travel plans or start dates.
Contact us promptly upon selection to prevent the candidate’s profile from being offered to other families. We offer ongoing support to both parties throughout the placement.
* Payment to Au Pair & Nanny Network Australia for the placement fee is required once you have made your selection and prior to confirmation of any travel plans (of international candidates) or commencement of start date for the Au Pair / Demi Pair. Placement fees are listed below.

We will prepare a placement invitation/confirmation detailing start dates, pocket money and expected hours.
Fees/Costs
New Host Families
Registration/interview fee of $150 (Non refundable)
Au Pair placement fee 2-6 months placement (Short term placement subject to availability) $700*
Au Pair placement fee 6-12 months $1000*
Demi Pair Placement fee 3- 5 months – $500*
Demi Pair Placement Fee 6 months+ – $750*
*(Includes $300 Administration fee)

Our Fees include Orientation with other Au Pair’s/Demi Pairs. (Perth only sorry)

– A handbook for both Host Families and Au Pairs.
Au Pair Pocket money guidelines:
As the Au Pair and Demi Pair programs are cultural exchange programs where bed and board are included based on the homestay program of $385 based on three meals a day, 7 days a week.
We recommend ensuring your Au pair has two consecutive days off a week and does not work more than 35 hours a week.
*Please note that since Covid-19 the Australian Au Pair market has become extremely competitive.
Recommended guideline
*For up to 25 hours a week assistance, minimum of $250 per week (the average offered is $300+)
*Up to 35 hours we recommend minimum of $350-$400 (The average offered is $450)*Completion bonus is at the discretion of the family, but we recommend a minimum of $500 (or two weeks of pocket money).
You must provide Au Pair with full board (own room plus 3 meals a day, 7 days a week for the full duration of your Au pairs placement)
Demi Pair Pocket Money Guidelines
A Demi Pair provides 15 hours of assistance in return for full bed and board and $80 pocket money to assist with expenses. (They can assist up to 20 hours outside of their school hours).
We recommend your Demi Pair has at least one full day off per week.
We recommend approx. $15.00 AUD/hour for any additional hours.
