" Using an placement coordinator to seek someone to be part of our family is essential for both us as a family and the Au Pair. We receive fantastic support from Beck for our last 3 Au Pairs, and our Au Pairs appreciate the support Beck gives to them (even if it is just the occasional phone call).
My 2 boys love having a big sister and I love having the extra company as my FIFO husband is not home half the time.
I always recommend this placement coordinator to everyone I talk to when I share my amazing Au Pair experiences. "
Before coming to Australia I craved adventure and was desperate to experience a new continent, new culture and new people. I decided that becoming an au pair was a great way of doing this.
The decision for me to go to Australia and choosing my host family was very spontaneous, we found each other very quickly and the next thing I knew I’d flown 1700km’s, 22 hours across the world.
The best thing about being an au pair was my host family where I looked after 2 wonderful children in Western Australia. I was immediately welcomed into the family and they made my transition into Australian life very smooth, since then we have built a long lasting friendship. I am lucky enough to have a huge number of fond memories from my experience, some of my favorites would be the delight on the 2yr olds face when she first learnt to swim with arm bands on by herself, being woken Christmas morning to 2 very excited children jumping on my bed screaming that Father Christmas had visited them. When the kids showed me the ‘proper’ way to feed a kangaroo at the local wildlife park and the fact that 6 months on I check my postbox and still get pictures and cards they have made and posted to me.
Being an au pair is a fantastic way to travel and experience different cultures while caring for children. I would recommend it to anyone and if the right opportunity comes along I would definitely do it again.
My experience in Perth was a wonderful one, I'll never forgot these 4 months passed in WA!!! I discovered a wonderful country and i meet a very nice australian family and also friends. I spend the most wonderful months of my life over there and I really thanks my host family for that!
